After years, the opportunity the NHL executives the world over has finally arrived.

Today, hockey forum commenting veteran Michael Baumann announced he is available for hire, a decision that will at long last make his expansive knowledge of the National Hockey League, its players and his uncanny knack for knowing what free agency deals will be a boom or bust available to one lucky General Manager.

“I’ve thought long and hard about this, and I’ve decided it would be best for me and my family if I leave HFBoards, the Hockey Fights forums and the SB Nation comment threads and join an NHL franchise,” Baumann, who goes by PuckGuru35, said Tuesday morning.

Baumann’s agent, Jay Grossman, said he expects his client to command a salary of at least $13 million a year.

“Come on, Mike’s track record speaks for itself,” Grossman said. “Remember the Jeff Finger contract? He was the first one one HFBoards to ROFL with aloof disdain. He’s ripped Eklund in 14 different languages. AND he’s won both the Cynical Sad Bastard Award and Humorless Twatdolphin of the Year for the last 4 years straight.”

Toronto Maple Leafs General Manager Brian Burke said he has already met with Baumann about a special advisor position.

“Quite frankly, I was blown away,” Burke said. “He told me that mortgaging my future by trading my draft picks away could be risky if the players I’ve acquired don’t pan out the way I want. I mean, holy shit right? Freaking genius.”

On several hockey forums Monday night, however, reaction was decidedly different.

“That guy was a total Fukhead, IMHO,” commenter MontrealMaven posted
