The USA and Canada face off today for a gold medal, causing fans to cease using anything related to the other country.

When the United States and Canada face off tonight in for a gold medal, don’t expect Vancouver native Tim Davison to even look in your general direction if you’re wearing blue.

“Blue is an American color,” Davison said.  “We’re Canadians here, alls we need is red and white.  And Molson.  GO CANADA GO!”

With the much-anticipated Olympic gold medal game mere hours away, fans of both Team USA and Team Canada have taken the rivalry to new extremes, boycotting anything related to the opposing country.  Jason Allmann of Paterson, New Jersey, made drastic changes to his breakfast, for example.

“You know what I got today?  I got pancakes…with VERMONT maple syrup,” said Allmann while eating at the Reo Diner in Woodbridge, New Jersey.  “The hell with that canuck stuff.  And Canadian bacon?  It’s not even bacon!  THIS is bacon baby!”  Allmann then proceeded to eat what seemed to be a fairly unhealthy amount of American-style bacon.

“I’m giving up Minnesota,” said Iowa native Wilson Blair.  “They want to be Canada anyway, so I say, let them have it.”  When reminded that a large contingent of Team USA members hails from the Gopher state, Blair said, “Well then those guys are cool.  But the rest of the state can go be Canada South for all I care.”

Oshawa, Ontario native Jackie Lukas is perhaps making the biggest sacrifice during the gold-medal contest.  “I’ve given up giving head to Heads of State,” Lukas said.  “That’s a totally American thing.

    Vermont maple syrup FTW.

If the US wins, I think we should give political asylum to Labatt. Wouldn’t want to see cases of Labatt Blue smashed on Canadian streets.
